A favorite time of year may be spring, when all the trees blossom and the air is perfumed with their scent. Hope is here for a new life to seed and begin to flourish and develop. So fleeting – Tied to the Buddhist themes of mortality, mindfulness and living in the present, cherry blossoms are a timeless metaphor for human existence. Blooming season is powerful, glorious and intoxicating, but tragically short-lived — a visual reminder that our lives, too, are fleeting.

A poem by William Blake- The Blofsom

Merry, merry sparrow!
Under leaves so green
A happy blossom
Sees you, swift as arrow,
Seek your cradle narrow,
Near my bosom.

Pretty, pretty robin!
Under leaves so green
A happy blossom
Hears you sobbing, sobbing,
Pretty, pretty robin,
Near my bosom.
