Colour has always been my special place. Colour and light motivate me to paint and suggests musical chords to me. It is the emotional element that holds a painting together. I never get tired of exploring its nuances. Plein Air work is perfect painting for me under the natural sunlight. Somehow, I respond colour like a bee to a flower buzzing and feeling. Cerulean splendor from Goethe, Thoreau, Virginia Woolf, Vladimir Nabokov, Rachel Carson, Toni Morrison, and other literary masters has inspired my study of colour. Johannes Itten has a particular interest for me.
