A Winter Place is a series of paintings completed during my residency at Gibraltar Point, Artscape on Toronto Island Ontario 2014. I completed these landscape paintings in my studio on the island while  immersed in the winter landscape where everything is frozen and silent. The paintings represent something perfect but also unsettling in their uncertainty. These constructions remain passages to an emotional and metaphysical place where the imagination runs freely. Their impermanence offers a sublime realization of the transient nature of all things.
